Delete Your Data
Last updated October 27, 2026.
The short version
Almost everything Rudder knows is already only on your phone, and you can erase the local history yourself, with no request needed: use Settings → Erase and start over inside the Rudder app, or just uninstall it. Exported files and copies you shared must be deleted separately. Rudder also sends crash diagnostic data to our crash-reporting provider, Firebase Crashlytics (part of Google) when Rudder crashes; for questions or requests about those reports, email us using the steps below.
How to request deletion
- Email privacy@getrudder.app from any address, with "Delete my data" (or similar) in the subject line.
- If you shared an export or contacted support, identify that conversation or file. For diagnostic reports, tell us the approximate time, app version and device model if known. Rudder has no login or in-app way to display the Firebase diagnostic identifier, so a time and device model may not be enough to identify your reports reliably. Do not send identity documents or your full usage export just to identify a crash report.
- We will explain what data we can identify and what action is available, and confirm any deletion we complete. Diagnostic deletion may require Firebase support. We cannot promise that an email address, device model or approximate time alone identifies a particular installation.
What gets deleted, and what's kept
- On-device usage data (which apps you manage, check-in responses, adaptive settings history): entirely under your own control already. Completing "Erase and start over" or uninstalling removes the local history; unless you explicitly shared an export, we do not have a copy to delete separately.
- Exported or shared copies: deleting the app or starting over does not delete files you exported or copies held by recipients. Delete your exported files separately. If you sent a copy to us, mention it in your deletion request; contact other recipients directly about their copies.
- Crash diagnostic data (see Rudder's Privacy Policy for exactly what this contains): not erased from Firebase when you erase local data or uninstall. Requests are handled as described above. Firebase states that crash traces and associated identifiers are retained for 90 days before removal from live and backup systems begins; this is not a guarantee of complete deletion exactly on day 90.
Removing one managed app or turning off suggestions is not a full-history deletion. Erasing Rudder's local data does not turn off automatic crash reporting or remove reports already sent.
Rudder has no user accounts, so there's no account, profile, or login to delete either. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture of what Rudder collects and why.
